No confronto contra o Lille, no último dia 19 de fevereiro, Neymar saiu mais uma vez lesionado e preocupa, podendo ser um desfalque nos próximos jogos pela League 1 e para o próximo compromisso da equipe na Champions contra Bayern Múnich, em partida de volta em que o PSG precisa reverter o placar negativo do jogo de ida no dia 14/02/2023, o Paris perdeu em casa em pleno Parc des Princes, por 1×0, na capital francesa. O único gol daquela partida foi marcado por Coman, aos oito minutos do segundo tempo.
Neymar acumula um histórico de lesões nos últimos anos. Em março de 2018, Neymar não jogou a partida de volta nas oitavas de final frente ao Real Madrid por lesão e caíram derrotados por 2-1, sem forças para se recuperar da derrota 3-1 sofrida antes contra o Madrid. Também em março de 2019, o PSG era claro candidato a avançar de fase depois do 2-0 sobre o Manchester United na Inglaterra na partida de ida, conseguido sem Neymar y sem Edinson Cavani, a época o máximo goleador histórico. Novamente o brasileiro não se recuperou para a volta, e o PSG perdeu por 3-1 em casa ao sofrer um gol no final da partida e caiu eliminado novamente na mesma fase.
Em 2022 tampouco o ex-jogador do Santos esteve pronto: no 1-0 frente ao Real Madrid em París jogou somente 20 minutos. Esteve na volta, mas o time Merengue conseguiu uma virada épica, eliminado novamente nas oitavas de final.
