Duas atletas de Moju foram convocadas pela Confederação Brasileira de Handebol, para integrar a Seleção Brasileira Juvenil Feminina em uma fase de treinamento em Blumenau, Santa Catarina, que acontecerá de 21 a 27 de julho de 2024. A preparação acontece com vistas ao Mundial da categoria, que será realizado em agosto na China.
As jovens convocadas são Joyce Santos e Lana Cristina, elas são jogadoras da equipe Duck Hand-Moju. E esta já é a terceira vez que Joyce Santos, natural do município de Moju, é chamada para compor a Seleção Brasileira de Handebol da categoria. Na última convocação, Joyce foi destaque do Brasil ao conquistar o título de campeã Sul-Americana Cadete.
Lana Cristina, originária do estado do Maranhão, que atualmente reside e defende Moju e o estado do Pará, foi convocada pela segunda vez, para a Seleção Brasileira.
Assim como Joyce, Lana também foi campeã Sul-Americana Cadete em 2023, apresentando muito talento e a dedicação que a colocou novamente na mira da seleção nacional.
A convocação deixa claro o crescimento e a qualidade do handebol em Moju, referenciando o importante papel do Duck Hand-Moju na formação de talentos esportivos do handebol paraense, que vêm se destacando em competições nacionais e internacionais. São grandes as expectativas de um bom desempenho de Joyce Santos e Lana Cristina, que levarão a torcida dos paraenses e sua esperança de novos títulos para o Brasil.
