Policiais do 51º Batalhão de Polícia Militar (51º BPM) salvaram a vida de um bebê de 10 meses que estava asfixiado, em Ulianópolis, sudeste do Pará. A ação ocorreu na madrugada desta segunda-feira (17), quando os soldados Dias e Vinícius realizavam patrulhamento no bairro central da cidade.
Por volta da meia-noite, os pais da criança, em estado de desespero, abordaram a viatura na avenida Presidente Vargas, próximo a um posto de combustível. Ao perceber que o bebê estava desfalecido e com o rosto arroxeado, o soldado Dias realizou a manobra de Heimlich, técnica de emergência para desobstrução das vias respiratórias.
Com a intervenção rápida, a criança expeliu um inseto semelhante a um besouro e voltou a respirar normalmente. Após o procedimento, a equipe da PM encaminhou a criança e a mãe ao Hospital Municipal de Ulianópolis, onde receberam atendimento médico.
Capacitação para salvar vidas
A Polícia Militar do Pará tem investido em cursos de formação que incluem conhecimentos de Atendimento Pré-Hospitalar (APH) para preparar os agentes em situações de emergência. A técnica utilizada pelos policiais faz parte da grade curricular dos Cursos de Formação de Praças (CFP) e de Oficiais (CFO).
