A subtração destes utensílios vem causando um imenso prejuízo aos cofres públicos, uma vez que sua aquisição e instalação são feitas com recursos próprios. O Setor de Iluminação Pública do município já abriu protocolo de registros de furtos em pelo menos 10 dos cerca de 16 bairros da cidade, contabilizando aproximadamente 40 iluminarias levadas pelos ladrões.
_” Algumas imagens dos ladrões no ato do furto já foram repassadas para a polícia”, _ disse um funcionário do setor de iluminação pública, ao repórter Márcio Costa.
A iluminação pública desempenha um papel importante na promoção da vida noturna em áreas urbanas, tornando-as mais atraentes e seguras para os moradores e visitantes. Além disso, esse tipo de iluminação (LED) pode contribuir para a redução da criminalidade e acidentes de trânsito.
Com a ajuda da população, fica mais fácil de descobrir quem está furtando essas iluminarias, quem souber denuncie através do 181, a identidade será mantida em sigilo.
