O tema geral do encontro é O Cenário Atual e Futuro na Implementação dos Direitos da Pessoa com Deficiência: construindo um Brasil mais inclusivo. E a previsão é que delegados representantes de comunidades, movimentos sociais e gestores públicos participem dos quatro dias de conferência.
Cabe destacar ainda que os debates devem ser formatados em torno de cinco eixos temáticos, sendo: I – Estratégias para manter e aprimorar o controle social assegurando a participação das pessoas com deficiência; II – Garantia do acesso das pessoas com deficiência às políticas públicas e avaliação biopsicossocial unificada; III – Financiamento da promoção de direitos da pessoa com deficiência; IV – Cidadania e Acessibilidade; e V – Os desafios para a comunicação universal.
Sendo que as mais importantes questões abordadas nas conferências que antecederam a nacional trataram do financiamento da promoção dos direitos da pessoa com deficiência, da comunicação universal e, principalmente, do enfrentamento à violência contra essa população.
