Uma mulher foi detida por perseguir um médico em Minas Gerais durante cinco anos, chegando a fazer mais de 500 ligações para ele em um único dia. Kawara Welch Ramos de Medeiros, de 23 anos, afirma ter tido um relacionamento com o médico, mas ele nega qualquer envolvimento.
Além das incessantes chamadas telefônicas, Kawara enviou 1.300 mensagens de texto e cadastrou mais de 2.000 números diferentes após ser bloqueada pelo médico repetidamente.
A perseguição incluía diversas formas de contato, desde e-mails até visitas ao local de trabalho e até mesmo à residência do médico em Ituiutaba, no Triângulo Mineiro.
O advogado alega que havia um envolvimento amoroso entre os dois.
Essa situação é comprovada por prints, provas testemunhais, que nunca foram valoradas corretamente pelo poder judiciário e pela autoridade policial.
O advogado argumenta que não pode ser considerado crime. Se a relação era mútua, não se trata de perseguição. A defesa pretende “buscar absolvição e a realidade dos fatos”.
Ela enfrentou sua primeira prisão em 2021, após denúncias de perseguição e coação contra o homem, iniciadas em 2019.
Kawara agrediu a esposa do médico em 2023. A mulher foi atacada em frente à clínica do marido, teve o celular e a chave do carro roubados pela jovem. Em janeiro daquele ano, ela foi detida em flagrante, mas liberada após pagar fiança de R$ 3.600 e ficar sujeita a medidas cautelares.
Em março de 2023, foi emitido novo mandado de prisão devido ao descumprimento das cautelares. Desde então, estava foragida até ser detida em 2 de maio deste ano em uma universidade de Uberlândia, onde cursava nutrição.
Em abril de 2021, foi sancionada a lei que criminaliza o stalking, definido como perseguição, com pena de seis meses a dois anos de reclusão e multa. A pena pode ser aumentada em casos de vítimas vulneráveis, como crianças, adolescentes, idosos, e em situações de violência contra a mulher.
