O estudante de Jornalismo na Universidade Federal do Pará (UFPA), João Reis, de 25 anos, morador da comunidade quilombola Genipaúba, rio de Abaetetuba, região localizada no Pará.
Criou um mini documentário de sua localidade, o qual foi aprovado e será exibido em evento na cidade de São Luiz do Maranhão.
O evento chamado XXVI Encontro Nacional de Geografia Agrária- ENGA, este ano com o tema “Da Amazônia para o mundo, Territórios, Diversidades e Povos Tecendo Futuros”, representa a continuidade e amadurecimento de um processo de estudos e debates das temáticas agrárias, que se originou nos anos de 1970, reunindo pesquisadores(as) da Geografia Agrária brasileira, os(as) quais buscavam, a partir da realização de um encontro temático, o fortalecimento deste campo do conhecimento. Este ano o evento acontece em junho com Mesas Redondas, Oficinas e minicursos.
“É uma grande satisfação poder levar para fora do Pará a nossa vivência, realidade e nossa cultura. Contando a história de como a comunidade que faço parte surgiu, quem foram seus fundadores, fazendo assim uma comparação do antes e hoje, e deixar esse resgate para os futuros moradores que estão por vir em forma de documentário audiovisual” disse João Reis.
O documentário que será apresentado no evento em Maranhão tem como tema “História e memória da comunidade quilombola de Genipaúba, em Abaetetuba-Pará. Eventos acadêmicos como esse impactam diversas pessoas, acontece troca de conhecimento entre os pesquisadores e devem ser prestigiados.
